Getting a website started can be daunting if you're new to the internet, or if you're not fluent with the language of computers. There are three basic steps to the process: Domain, Hosting and Design. We can help you with all the neccessary steps to get your web-presence up & running.
- Domains: Your web-designer can help you choose a domain name, based on your needs. He can also perform the registration on a yearly or multi-year basis for you. Typical costs for Domain Registration Management are $50 per year; adding on $25 for each multi-year renewal.
- Hosting: This is literally renting space on someone's computer to store your website. These are computers uniquely designed to host websites, called "web servers" - they literally "serve" the pages to visitors who request them. Due to competition in the hosting field, prices have come down to a level that small businesses and individuals can easily afford. Hosting plans for personal sites or small non-commerce sites can start as low as $50 per year. Larger sites, or sites with demanding performance needs, such as database and e-commerce activity can range from $10 to $25 per month in hosting costs.
- Design: That's what we do! A web designer will work with you to choose the layout, organization and design of your site, as well as coaching you on content quality and optimizing your site for search engine placement. Your web-designer will work within your budget to achieve the best deal you can get for your investment. Personal web-sites, or small business sites can start in the range of $200 to $600 to setup, including your 1st year's registration and hosting fee.
